Abuja Prohibits Pos Employees From Working In Residential Areas

Owners of Point of Sales (POS) devices are required by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to confine their activities to commercial zones.

On Wednesday, Umar Shuaibu, the coordinator for the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), issued the instruction.

According to Shuaibu, the government would not let businesses to forcibly occupy critical sites.

The official said that the security of the nation’s capital was being threatened by their indiscriminate behavior.

He said that the neighbourhood idea, which brings services closer to the people, was included into the Abuja Master Plan.

Shuaibu advised POS owners to be present in shopping malls, plazas, marketplaces, supermarkets, and gas stations.

The AMAC CEO urged the operators to speak with the property owners in order to do business on their property.

All operations must move to commercial zones going forward. This would aid in reducing insecurity, he said.
