A State Visit By The President Of South Korea Is Scheduled On April 26.

As the nations step up their collaboration over the danger from North Korea, US President Joe Biden will welcome South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol for a state visit on April 26, the White House stated Tuesday.

In response to increased threats from Pyongyang, which possesses nuclear weapons and has conducted a string of illegal weapons tests recently, the United States and South Korea have begun conducting more and more joint exercises.

Just Biden’s second state visit of his presidency, the coveted trip “will underline the significance and continuing strength of the unshakable… partnership” between the two nations, according to the White House.

The celebration of the 70th anniversary of bilateral relations, which the White House described as “essential to achieving peace, stability, and prosperity for our two nations, the Indo-Pacific, and across the globe,” included a state dinner at the presidential house in Washington.

North Korea has bucked over US-South Korea military drills, calling them “practice runs for an invasion,” and said its nuclear and missile programs are for self-defense.

Pyongyang warned earlier Tuesday that it would be a “clear declaration of war” if its missiles were shot down during their test launches over the Pacific Ocean.

The US and South Korean forces will conduct their biggest combined exercises in the last five years later this month.

Before to those drills, which began on March 13 and would last for at least ten days, the allies conducted air exercises using a US B-52 heavy bomber that was nuclear capability.
