8 People Are Killed By Thieves In A Hamlet In Benue.

On Thursday, bandits murdered eight people, including women and children, in a raid on a town near the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Abagena, Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue.

News reporters were informed by an eyewitness that eight other people had suffered significant injuries and had been sent to a hospital for care.

“Some of the victims had their heads removed after being decapitated. More victims are still being sought for by combing the woods.

“The assault killed a man, his wife, and their four children.

The eyewitness claimed, “The casualty total may likely increase since three additional people were shot dead and may not survive the injuries to their chests.

When reached, SP Sewuese Anene, the police spokesperson in Benue, acknowledged the assault and said that the number of casualties has not yet been determined.

Anene said that police had sent officers to the area to prevent more assaults.
