11 Lagos-bound Passengers Died From Burn Injuries In The Ore Incident.

In a catastrophic car accident involving a trailer and a Marcopollo bus that happened yesterday at Soka Bridge in Ore, the seat of the Odigbo Local Council of Ondo State, eleven passengers perished from burn injuries.

Passengers on the Marcopollo bus were among the fatalities whose names had not yet been determined. An eyewitness said that the truck driver, who was driving too fast against traffic, was to blame for the tragedy. The vehicle struck the Marcopollo bus, according to the eyewitness who identified herself as Moyosore. The truck is thought to have originated from the Benin axis.

The collision was brought on by the trailer, she said. It only went one way, and the driver was moving quite quickly.

“When it reached Soka Bridge, it struck the Marcopollo bus that was traveling along Benin Road. The bus quickly caught fire. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) troops needed some time to remove the massive traffic jam that had formed after the collision on the popular Benin-Lagos road.

The 11 passengers were burned beyond recognition, according to Sikiru Alonge, the FRSC Unit Commander in Ore, who confirmed the disaster.

Alonge said that efforts to remove wrecked automobiles from the route were “in high gear” with other security authorities. To prevent preventable deaths, he pleaded with drivers to always abide by the law.
