The Osun government claims that the Abuja Governor’s Lodge was looted.
The Osun State Government has said once again that the Gboyega Oyetola administration at the state governor’s lodge in Abuja shamelessly carted away government property.
Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokesperson, revealed this in a statement yesterday. Under the direction of Dr. B.T. Salam and other senior government officials, the state’s Assets Inventory and Recovery Committee reported that during a weekend physical inspection of the Abuja building, valuables including television sets, chairs, foams, electrical fixtures, bedsheets, spoons, and cutlery had been forcibly removed from the Lodge.
According to the complaint, Abuja Lodge public workers acknowledged Oyetola’s men were plundering state property but claimed they could do nothing to stop them.
Ismail Omipidan, Oyetola’s media adviser, responded to the claim of theft in Abuja by describing it as just a diversionary technique by the governor to hide his lack of readiness to lead the state.
Omipidan added that it was clear the committees were set up to do hatchet jobs based on the governor’s repeated charges made while they were still in session.
He said that what had happened in Osun over the previous two weeks was proof of his prior claim that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) wasn’t prepared to rule.
Remember that one of the committee’s responsibilities when Adeleke established his transition team in July was to create a plan for the governor’s first 100 days in office. And I made it obvious at the time that these folks weren’t prepared for leadership. Now it is clear to us all. It is coming to pass.

I came up with the inventory and the information that the Government House was taken over by the new governor’s security personnel on November 26 and that party was hosted there on the day of the inauguration. But on December 1, they concocted a story to claim that the location had been stolen. They have not refuted the data I have presented so far. They have begun a new lie today.
