The number of special assistants under Governor Wike is increased to 200,000.

The number of Special Assistants on Political Unit Affairs employed by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has grown from 100,000 to 200,000.

On November 4, Wike made the announcement when he formally inaugurated the second and last group of the inaugural 100,000 assistants from the Rivers East Senatorial District.

Remember that on November 3rd, the Governor administered the oath of office to the first group of around 45,000 assistants from the Rivers South-East and Rivers West Senatorial Districts.

The Special Assistants’ responsibility is to provide the state administration with candid input from the general public.

Through the 319 Ward-level liaison officers, who will subsequently report to the 32 State Constituency Liaison Officers for transmission to the Governor’s office, they are to convey public sentiment toward the Wike government.

The 32 State Constituency Liaison Officers and the 319 Wards Liaison Officers took their oaths of office earlier this week.
