Politicians Cannot Avoid Bvas Using Purchased Pvc, According To Inec

Ineffective efforts are being made by political candidates to rig the general elections in 2023, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Those who are not the original owners of traded PVCs would have their biometric information rejected by the Bimodal Voter Registration System (BVAS), according to INEC, which will be used to verify and accredit voters beginning in 2023.

Festus Okoye, the national commissioner of INEC, stated on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, “In terms of any politician avoiding the BVAS, I want to assure you that it would not happen, that is an impossible.”

The Northern Elders Forum and the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, two non-governmental organizations, claimed that politicians are purchasing PVCs from underprivileged voters to rig the next elections.

However, Okoye on Sunday referred to the desperate politicians’ intention to rig the next election as “an impossibility” and called it impossible.

He stated that possessing a PVC that does not belong to one is an electoral offense and that it is the obligation of the security authorities to track down and punish offenders.

Some politicians are quite upbeat; they typically make contingency plans; they continue to believe that there is a chance they can defeat the BVAS that we will use for voter accreditation and verification, but their effort will be fruitless.
