Pastor Adeboye laments that the naira is “not worth the paper it is printed on.”
|The devaluation in the value of the Naira has been bemoaned by Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, or RCCG.
Adeboye bemoaned the fact that Nigeria’s circumstances had become so bad that the country’s money was no longer worth the paper it was written on.
He responded to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) redesign of the Naira.
The N100, N200, N500, and N1000 notes will be redesigned, according to CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele.
The new naira notes will be on sale on December 5, 2022, according to Emefiele.
Pastor Adeboye responded by saying:
Because of the current state of affairs in our nation, we must implore God for compassion.
Our current naira isn’t even worth the paper it’s written on, to be honest. Moses is thinking about beautifying the Naira so that even if it can’t purchase bread, at least it would look lovely while people are struggling to find enough money to buy bread to eat.
