Nigeria May Be In Danger, According to Fani-Kayode

Following the declarations by the trio of Afenifere, Ohaneze Ndigbo, and Northern Elders Forum that the unity of Nigeria is negotiable, Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of aviation and prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, claims that the nation is on the verge of collapse.

Recall that yesterday at a public lecture in Lagos with the theme “Nationalism and nation-building in Nigerian history,” the trio of Afenifere, Ohaneze Ndigbo, and Northern Elders Forum each gave a separate speech on the topic of Nigeria’s unity being negotiable.

Dr. Hakeem Ahmed, the Northern Elders Forum’s director of publicity, has previously stated:

“Some political figures in Nigeria have said that the country’s unity cannot be negotiated. Although I don’t know who they are, I can assure you that neither they nor the NEF are from the North. Negotiable is Nigeria’s unity.

Professor George Obiozor, the president of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, said:

In order for Nigerian unity to endure or stand the test of time, it must be renegotiated.

Fani-Kayode, however, claimed that the statements made by Nigeria’s three main ethnic groups showed that something was wrong.

He posted on Twitter and said,

“We are on the verge of collapse when Afenifere, Ohanaeze, and the Northern Elders Forum attend a conference, as they did yesterday, and declare that the unity of Nigeria is negotiable. And this just before to a vote in which each of the three main tribes is fielding a candidate? God be with us.
