Ned Nwoko: “I’m Serving Nigeria By Having Many Wives”

Ned Nwoko, also known as Prince Chinedu Munir Nwoko, explained why he has so many wives by blaming Southern Nigeria’s high prostitution rate on the region’s rejection of polygamy.

In an interview with the Guardian, the lawyer said that by taking multiple wives, he and polygamists are helping Nigeria.

Nwoko stated that a man with multiple wives focuses more on them as opposed to a monogamous man who lavishes money on girlfriends, using his ancestry and that of some South-West monarchs as examples.

He declared: “There are a lot of single women out there, especially in the southern region of the nation, and prostitution is very common.

The unfortunate things that some of our girls do to make ends meet could be changed if our men adopted the multi-wife tradition of their northern brethren.

The typical southerner may only have one wife, but he also has numerous girlfriends, and he frequently spends more money on his girlfriends than on his wife.

“A man with three wives, for example, focuses on them and his kids; every dollar he earns is spent on the family, and he is less likely to have girlfriends or concubines. Money spent on them by people who have multiple girlfriends is a gift, not an investment in the family.

The 19-year-old Nwoko continued, “My grandfather, the Ooni’s grandfather, and the former Olowo of Owo took many pictures together. Because our grandfathers were kings and served Nigeria in that capacity, the Ooni and I share a similar background. And by taking on numerous wives, we are currently serving Nigeria.
