Mohammed Fadah, a NYSC DG, will be fired by Buhari for “incompetence,”

According to TheCable, President Muhammadu Buhari has authorized Mohammed Fadah’s immediate departure as director-general of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Sources claim that the president made his choice on Thursday and that it was motivated by worries about “incompetence”.

Fadah, who became the 19th person to occupy the job of NYSC DG in May 2022, is reportedly being fired only months after taking office.

“Improving the security and welfare of corps members; enhancing staff welfare; and improving the gains of NYSC ventures” were some of his plans for the NYSC at the time of his appointment.

His aims for the corps also include “maintaining the scheme’s operations’ digitalisation; and extending the influence of NYSC on rural development via community development service.”

Fadah is claimed to have been instructed to turn over to the top NYSC officer after his alleged dismissal, in the meanwhile.

The senior officer who succeeds Fadah is anticipated to serve as the corps’ director general (DG) until a new appointment is made public.
