Ladi Adebutu and four other members of the Ogun State PDP are dismissed

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday announced the firing of Ladi Adebutu, a previous candidate for governor, and four other party members, adding to the turmoil in the Ogun State chapter.

The Ogun PDP said that the reason for their expulsion from the party was due to their alleged participation in the manipulation of the delegates’ list used to hold the party’s primary election for governor on May 25, 2022, as well as their blatant defiance of a court order.

The Working Committee of the party evaluated the findings of the five-person disciplinary panel that was established to look into the claims of anti-party, indiscipline, division, and conduct that might bring the party into discredit before announcing Adebutu’s expulsion.

Along with four other people, the former gubernatorial candidate, who had been suspended since October 25, was expelled: Taiwo Akinlabi, Sunday Solarin, Kayode Adebayo, and Akinloye Bankole.

Akintunde Mufutau, the head of the disciplinary committee, issued the following statement:

“The panel found Adebutu and others guilty after carefully examining the allegations made against them. They have since received a recommendation for expulsion, which has been sent to the appropriate party organs for approval.
