International Arts Festival with Nigeria
The Federal Government has chosen the Ekiti State Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Tourism to represent the nation in the 2023 Surajkund International Arts Festival, which will take place in India from February 3 to 19.
This was disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti by Prof. Rasaki Ojo Bakare, the immediate past commissioner for arts, culture, and tourism in Ekiti.
The Federal Administration had sent a letter of invitation to the State to that effect, according to Bakare, who is now temporarily helping the new government in the State on matters pertaining to arts and culture.
He said that since 2020, the State has consistently outperformed other States by winning all of the Awards in the cultural and tourism sectors.
Among other honors, he listed three National Festival of Arts and Culture NAFEST Best States Awards, the Second Best Tourism State Award, hosting the Tourism Festival of the Year 2021 Awards, and first place in the International Arts and Crafts INAC Award.
He said that the Federal Government and the Indian authorities would cover the costs of international air travel, lodging, feeding, and local travel.
Based on the State’s patient investment in the Sector since 2019, according to Prof. Bakare, the State has earned itself such honor.
