In Dakar, the 8th AFRIMA program is announced.

The African Union (AU) Commission and the Senegalese Ministry of Tourism yesterday released the schedule of activities for the 8th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), dubbed the “Teranga Edition” and scheduled to take place in Dakar from January 12 to 15, 2023.

AFRIMA, the organization that has brought African music to the top of the global music scene, is ready to make sure that the annual four-day festival is aired to music fans and stakeholders in more than 84 nations across the world.

The Senegalese Minister of Tourism, Alioune Sarr, welcomed visitors from all over the globe and reaffirmed the nation’s dedication to accomplishing the shared goals of the AU and AFRIMA by using music as a vehicle to expand Africa’s creative economy. He was represented by Souleymane Bakhayoko.

The minister praised the work of the AFRIMA team, emphasizing that the government of Senegal was fully prepared to guarantee the success of the “Teranga Edition,” according to a statement from the organization’s communications manager, Chinonso Ihekire.

Delegates are expected to arrive on January 11, 2023, as announced at the conference, to witness the opening ceremony, which will begin with a host country tour, a school visit and gift presentation (as part of AFRIMA’s Corporate Social Responsibility), as well as a Welcome Soiree in the evening, in Dakar.

The Africa Music Business Summit (AMBS) will take place at the Grand Theatre in Dakar on Friday, January 13. AMBS is the biggest meeting of music business experts in Africa, and it offers seminars and panel discussions on problems and prospects.

Mahktar Diop, the Senegal-based AFRIMA Country Director, said that the 8th edition “is for everyone,” not just the country of Senegal. “This is the moment for Africa,” he said. It is now appropriate for us to unite. All these celebrities are coming together for AFRIMA to promote not just their talent but also their cultures.
