EFCC Chair Bawa responds to the court’s finding of contempt

The chairman of the EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, said that he had appealed the court’s judgment ordering his imprisonment at Kuje jail.

After filing an appeal against the remand ruling, Bawa told journalists in Abuja that he would let the law’s natural process run its course.

We have already filed an appeal against it, so we will let the law’s normal process of operation prevail,” he added.

Earlier, Blueprint had reported that an Abuja High Court had found the head of the anti-graft agency guilty of contempt of court.

The conviction related to the EFCC’s refusal to follow a court judgment dated November 21, 2018, ordering it to give up a Range Rover and N40 million to a suit applicant.
