Be Out For Fire Outbreaks, The Fss Head Warns Around Christmas.
Abdulganiyu Jaji, the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), has urged Nigerians to practice fire safety awareness throughout the holiday season to prevent fire mishaps.
In a message of congratulations to all Christians, Jaji noted that with so many relatives and friends gathering to celebrate the holiday, it is simple to become sidetracked and simple for an accident or fire to occur.
In a statement issued by the service’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Abraham Paul, Jaji urged everyone to refrain from any behavior that could ignite a fire because the holiday season brings an influx of people from all walks of life for social and professional interactions, which can have unfavorable consequences.
“Let’s refresh our memories by going over the causes of some of the fires and carnage that have occurred in our homes and on our roads, including overloading electrical outlets, improper and careless LPG usage, improper maintenance of electrical equipment, and careless handling of candles and other naked flames, among other things.
In order for the Federal Fire Service to be effective, the public must imitate excellent safety practices by installing early detection and warning systems as well as fire extinguishers on their sites. The CG recommended everyone to put safety first.
