Atiku campaigns in Gombe State, vehicles are damaged
|Just two weeks after political thugs assaulted the convoy of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar in Borno State, his supporters were once again attacked in Gombe State.
According to information obtained by NAIJANOWELL, a conflict between Kalare boys and Atiku supporters on Monday following a presidential campaign in Gombe State resulted in at least three people being hurt to varying degrees.
Three vehicles, including a bus, a sedan, and a Keke NAPEP, that belonged to Atiku’s supporters were destroyed in the altercation.
According to reports, the fans were attacked near Pantami stadium.
According to Vanguard, the Kalare guys ambushed unarmed party supporters who were heading home after the event while brandishing clubs, swords, and other hazardous weapons.
The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, declined to comment when reached for comment since he was at a workshop and unable to confirm the altercation.
