Adamu, the minister of education, admits he didn’t perform his official duties well.
|Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, acknowledged that by failing to address a number of issues that had a significant negative impact on the educational system in recent years, he had failed in his official obligations.
Adamu, who held the position of Education Minister for the longest period of time, spoke at the 66th National Council on Education (NCE) on Thursday in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja.
The Minister emphasized that he was unable to provide workable answers to problems facing the tertiary education system, such as the rise in the number of children who are not attending school, problems with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), and others.
Adamu, however, said that the state’s education ministry had contributed to the reasons that contributed to his failure as a minister.
