According to Fashola, infrastructure is the key to unleashing the economy.
The Minister cited the creation of jobs and a market for small and medium-sized businesses at building sites as evidence that the President Muhammadu Buhari government has advanced the economy via infrastructure development.

Fashola issued a warning to the fish dealers while visiting new concrete key clamps installed for them beneath the bridge at Liverpool Waterside. He advised them to refrain from engaging in any activity that would harm the newly created area or set the bridge on fire.
Speaking in his native Yoruba, Fashola encouraged the merchants to work with their market manager and Ministry of Works representatives to secure allocations of the new concrete booths.
As he described the infrastructural effort of the Buhari government to the merchants, he urged them to cast a large number of votes for the party in power, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Apapa-Oshodi-Ojota-Oworonshoki project’s director for federal highways in the south west, Mr. Adedamola Kuti, and the federal controller of works in Lagos State, Mr. Umar Bakare, earlier briefed the minister on the project’s different sections’ state of completion. He said that between January and February 2023 would be the completion date for the project, which starts at the Old Toll Gate and ends at Apapa.
The crossroads being built for the Lagos-Badagry Expressway project was addressed by Mrs. Aramide Adeyoye, Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Works and Infrastructure.
