33 ISWAP militants’ wives are killed by Boko Haram.

In Sambisa Forest, Borno State, Boko Haram militants murdered 33 spouses of the enemy Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). Ekpe Ogbu, the Sunday kidnapping victim and commissioner for housing and urban development for the Benue State, was liberated at this time.

According to reports, the recent deaths of Malam Aboubakar, the commander of Boko Haram, and 15 other people in a bloody gunfight at one of the woodland camps served as the catalyst for the massacre of the ISWAP spouses.

“Since December 3, 2022, a prominent Boko Haram commander in charge of Mandara Mountains in Gwoza Council, Ali Ngulde, has led hundreds of warriors to wage war against ISWAP in the Forest,” Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency specialist in the Lake Chad area, said in Maiduguri yesterday.

Military sources claim that in Maiduguri, Boko Haram commanders summoned ISWAP and declared their readiness to surrender to its leadership before the talks broke down, which is thought to have been the beginning of the offensive.

Makama said that “unknown to ISWAP, Ngulde and his squad had prepared an ambush against them, in which at least 12 of them were slain in Yuwe,” and that others fled into the forest after receiving bullet wounds.

Additionally, he said that the terrorist group Boko Haram had set fire to four ISWAP gun vehicles as well as other armaments. Regarding the manner in which the 33 women were murdered, he stated: “Shortly after the victory, the Boko Haram fighters mobilized more fighters from Abu Ikilima’s camp at Gaizuwa, Gabchari, Mantari, and Mallum Masari to attack more ISWAP positions in Ukuba, Arra, Sabil Huda, and Farisu,” adding that 23 fighters were also killed in the numerous clashes.

Ba’ana Chingori, a prominent ISWAP commander, led a small group of militants in retaliatory strikes against Boko Haram in Farisu a few hours later, calling for a declaration of war. The raid was successful since the ISWAP captured seven motorbikes and killed 15 Boko Haram militants, including a unit commander named Malam Aboubakar (Munzir).

Later, the ISWAP group pulled back and set up camp in the Izzah camp. The ISWAP forces relocated to Garin Abbah, two kilometers distant, and waited for the Boko Haram terrorists, the speaker added.
