Update from Laliga regarding messi’s return to Barcelona

The return of Lionel Messi to Barcelona would be advantageous for both the player and the team, according to LaLiga president Javier Tebas.

In August 2021, Messi was forced to quit Barcelona after 21 years due to the team’s financial difficulties.

Since his departure, Barcelona has been unable to advance beyond the group stages of the Champions League. He joined Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent.

“I believe that Messi is missed not just in La Liga but also in all of football because, well, the French league is what it is.

“Well, that’s it. I believe he is less well-followed than when he was at Barcelona, despite playing for PSG.

We will all be able to see him again in the World Cup, so let’s hope he has a terrific tournament, Tebas remarked.

The choice to let Messi go was the “hardest he ever made,” but Barca president Joan Laporta said “he did not regret it since the club always comes first.”
