Why Cancelo Was Rejected By Real Madrid

Joao Cancelo was rejected by Real Madrid before the Manchester City fullback last week joined Bayern Munich.

On the last day before the season ended, Cancelo agreed to a loan deal with Bayern.

According to Italian trade specialist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid was given the chance to acquire the fullback. However, Real politely rejected despite some injury concerns, in part because they didn’t want to obstruct the development of promising star Vincius Tobias (18).

Eventually, Cancelo transferred to Bayern Munich, where he made his debut against Mainz 05 in the German Cup match (4-0) only one day later.

With a €70 million permanent option, Manchester City has loaned the Portugal international to the club until the conclusion of the current campaign.
