Talks With Chelsea About Extending Lukaku’s Loan

Romelu Lukaku’s loan discussions with Chelsea are apparently something Inter Milan is eager to start following their Champions League match against Porto.

After losing his place in Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea lineup, the Belgian international has spent the season on loan with his previous club.

San Siro expects to be able to keep the striker for another season, despite the fact that he has only scored one goal in the Italian top division this year.

Inter Milan will talk about extending Lukaku’s loan after their next Champions League Round of 16 match, according to La Gazzetta.

On February 22, the Italian team will host Porto in the first leg of the match. On March 14, they will travel to Portugal for the second game.

Inter hopes Chelsea will reduce the price from the present deal, which calls for Inter to pay £7 million (€8 million) in loan fees and a further £ 2.6 million (€3 million) in prospective add-ons.

According to the Italian newspaper, Inter will use the striker’s poor form as leverage in talks and will seek to ‘halve’ the present costs in the Lukaku deal.
