Super Eagles Coach Peseiro may be fired by the NFF (SEE DETAILS)

Before to Monday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match in Guinea-Bissau, Nigeria’s head coach, Jose Peseiro, is in danger of losing his job.

In the Abuja National Stadium on Friday, the Super Eagles suffered a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of the match.

The leaders of the Nigeria Football Federation, or NFF, were incensed by the outcome.

After the game, Peseiro is said to have been called by NFF executives, who warned him in no uncertain terms that if he didn’t seek vengeance on the Djurtus in the rematch, he risked being sacked.

Under Peseiro, the three-time African champions have lost their past four games against Guinea-Bissau, Mexico, Algeria, and Costa Rica.

They are one point behind their hosts in Group A of the qualification campaign and face Guinea-Bissau on Monday.
