Marquinhos Is About To Extend His Psg Deal For Another Three Years.
According to a report by L’Équipe published today, Marquinhos and Paris Saint-Germain are almost ready to finalize contract negotiations, which have been ongoing for more than a year and a half.
With just a few last-minute issues to work out, the Brazilian captain of the league’s top team has agreed to sign a two-year contract with an option for an extra season. His current agreement was set to expire at the conclusion of next season.
The discussions, which started under previous Sporting Director Leonardo’s leadership, took a while to wrap up mostly because the parties involved initially had different compensation expectations and felt there was no urgency.
The PSG captain is now expected to continue playing for the club after almost ten years, with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi reportedly “dreaming” of Marquinhos playing out his career at PSG. Early on in the negotiations, the Brazilian had made it clear that he intended to remain in the French city. Since moving from Roma in 2013, he has made 391 appearances across all leagues, winning the Ligue 1 championship seven times in the process.
