Lionel Messi Should Go Back To Barcelona, According To Sergi Roberto.

As PSG supporters booed Lionel Messi and yelled for him to return to Barcelona, Sergi Roberto sprang to the Argentine star’s defense.

After his performance in the club’s Champions League elimination by Bayern Munich last week, Messi received jeers from PSG supporters before to their meeting with Rennes on Sunday.

The situation became worse when Rennes defeated the French champions, snapping their 35-match winning streak at the Parc des Princes, 2-0.

Messi left the field immediately after the game, and it is now widely believed that he will not likely remain in Paris through the conclusion of the current campaign.

Sergi Roberto is keen to reconnect with the World Cup champion, and one of Messi’s potential next stops is a fantastical return to the Nou Camp.

When asked if Barcelona would welcome back the club icon, the Barcelona defender told Jijantes FC that both he and the other players are eager to see Messi return to his previous club.

Who wouldn’t be ready for Messi’s return with open arms? The decision will be made by him, the president, the coach, or anyone; but, if it is for the benefit of the players, we are ready for him right away.

Roberto, who scored in Barcelona’s 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in the weekend’s El Clasico match, also commented on the way PSG supporters treated Messi. He should not be exposed to the criticism he is getting from the supporters, it is further said.

“You don’t get that he is enjoying a successful season in Paris, scoring plenty of goals and providing assists… They are upset with him because of the [Champions League] elimination, but he is a fantastic player, and it’s wrong that someone of this caliber be treated in this manner.

If he comes over here, we’ll treat him extremely nicely.

In 31 games this season, Messi has scored 18 goals for PSG, but he was unable to help the team advance in the Champions League as they were eliminated at the quarterfinal round.

With his contract available for renewal at the conclusion of the season, the 35-year-old has been continually linked with a return to Spain and to his previous home.

Inter Miami of the MLS is also courting Messi with the promise of a transfer to the MLS for the next season, and there are rumors that Al-Halai of Saudi Arabia is prepared to pay him a staggering £194 million-per-season contract to join Cristiano Ronaldo in the far east.
