If Newcastle Makes The Champions League, It Will Be A Miracle.

Alan Shearer, a former England striker, has stated qualifying for the Champions League for Newcastle would be “miraculous.”

Shearer said that he preferred Eddie Howe’s team to win a trophy than being in the top four.

After 19 games and 38 points, the Magpies sit third in the Premier League standings.

Shearer nonetheless told BBC:

“Although finishing in the Champions League spots would be absolutely amazing, I value the potential to win a trophy the most.

“A trophy would be my ambition for this season; I’d much rather win the Carabao Cup than be in the top four.”

Naturally, I’d love to see both come to pass, but given the option, I’d choose silverware every time. It’s far more significant to me.
