As The Barcelona Decision Approaches, Ansu Fati Must Make A Brave Decision.

Just two complete matches, 31 appearances, 1,126 minutes, and 9 starts. Ansu Fati has participated in each and every game for Barcelona this year, averaging little over 36 minutes per game.

He has scored six goals and provided three assists in that span, contributing a goal almost every 125 minutes. a decent average. It seems sense that Fati would be dissatisfied with his lack of Barcelona starts given the lack of rhythm.

The 20-year-old forward missed practically the whole of the previous season due to knee issues, choosing instead to attempt a different rehabilitation strategy instead of having surgery in the end. But it’s also true that this season he hasn’t been the same, missing the same burst of speed, his ability to outrun opponents, and at times, merely rusty. Ansu has had flashes of brilliance against Real Sociedad, Real Betis, and Real Madrid that are on par with his potential.

Thoughts are beginning to be expressed concerning his future, with some speculating as to whether he will ever return to his prior level. Fans disagree on whether Barcelona should attempt to cash in or stick with Ansu.

According to sports, Barcelona has no plans to sell Fati. However, if Ansu asked to leave, they would put him up for sale. It seems less unlikely now than it did a few months ago, given his ongoing problems to make the squad.

The rust is reasonable in many ways. There is a case to be made that, nine months after his comeback, he is still not match fit since he seldom ever starts consecutive games and even less commonly finishes them.

It seems like a conundrum to figure out how he achieves match fitness or a run in the squad. Keeping trust in guys who aren’t delivering results is not an option because Barcelona needs success and Xavi Hernandez has to perform this season. Additionally, after transitioning to a formation with four midfielders and using one of Gavi or Pedri farther forward instead of a left-sided attacker, Barcelona has looked considerably superior. It no longer exists, although it was Fati’s sole practical position in a 4-3-3 at the time.

It is difficult to see how he gets his opportunity until there are other injuries. He will continue in this position till the rest of the season unless he can start turning in strong performances off the bench and in lesser games, demanding a place in the Barcelona attack with goals and assists. Not to mention the fact that Fati and Ferran Torres are vying for the same positions.

Ansu may be part of Xavi Hernandez’s plans and they believe he will return to his best, but it increasingly seems that he may need to try his luck elsewhere to earn a chance to play for the first team.
