Barcelona has been mostly focused on acquisitions over the last year, but they have also been eager to secure long-term contracts for a rising number of the young talents who have developed inside the organization.
Since Joan Laporta joined the squad, Barcelona has extended contracts with Pedri, Gavi, and Ronald Araujo, but the latter has not yet been officially added to the first team.
Alejandro Balde, a left-back who has overtaken Jordi Alba this season with his sudden rise to prominence, is expected to take his place as the next in line. According to Sport, the Blaugrana will meet with agent Jorge Mendes to try to work out a contract. Although there is no agreement, both parties are eager to reach one.
However, it seems that Barcelona will spend money to retain Balde. According to their knowledge, Balde wants to earn the same pay grade as Pedri and Araujo. The two are allegedly among Barcelona’s top earners among younger players.
While it is still early for Balde and he to have recorded as much proof that he can reliably generate this sort of form as when Pedri and Araujo signed their contracts, all indications point to the fact that, given on the evidence at hand, the sky is the limit for Balde.
