Two members of Man City are up for the Premier League’s October player of the month award.

The nominees for the Premier League player of the month award for October are Manchester City players Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland.

Both players have had outstanding months for Pep Guardiola’s team as the Blues have maintained pressure on league-leading Arsenal. De Bruyne started the month off by contributing two assists in the trouncing of Manchester United. The next week, he contributed an assist against Southampton at home.

De Bruyne regained his scoring touch at the end of the month, netting twice in his last two Premier League games. Prior to scoring an incredible free-kick winner against Leicester City in the last game of the month, his first came against Brighton & Hove Albion.

With his stunning hat-trick and two assists versus United to kick off October, Haaland has remained in the lead of the race for the golden boot. The Norwegian then scored his fourth goal of the month against Southampton before going scoreless against Liverpool.

The 22-year-old found his scoring touch with a brace against Brighton, but last month’s trip to Leicester was cut short by injury, preventing him from scoring further goals. The Newcastle trio of Miguel Almiron, Bruno Guimaraes, and Kieran Trippier, Granit Xhaka of Arsenal, Kepa Arrizabalaga of Chelsea, and Leandro Trossard of Brighton will compete against City’s two for the prize.
