Noel Whelan, a former Leeds United forward, thinks Anthony Gordon of Everton, who was linked to Chelsea throughout the summer, would be a fantastic addition to Tottenham Hotspur.
Gordon fits Tottenham Hotspur’s style of play, according to Whelan, who hopes manager Antonio Conte will sign him soon.
Gordon was allegedly a target for Chelsea last summer, according to various rumors.
However, the Blues seemed to feel that the forward’s price was too high and abandoned the agreement.
“I believe that Gordon would do better in a more offensive role. Whelan told Football Insider that Everton doesn’t use their front three to their full potential.
“Spurs may need a little bit more backup when you consider how much Kulusevski, Richarlison, and Son’s injuries have affected them. He can play on the left, through the center, and on the right, which I believe makes him a good fit for Tottenham.
Conte undoubtedly believed they had enough players, but now that they are down to the absolute minimum, he has probably realized that he just needs one more. Given the World Cup, it may be one of those seasons when injuries rule the day.
“Gordon is a terrific player without a question, and he still has a lot to offer.”
