Ten Hag responds to Antony’s talent and justifies his substitution.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has vowed to “fix” Antony if he wastefully act foolishly in the future.

In the 38th minute of United’s 3-0 Europa League victory against FC Sheriff, the Brazilian performed his trademark “Anturny” move but botched his pass, leaving the scoreless.

Despite the support of the fans, United’s Diogo Dalot seemed to counsel Antony to play with greater ferocity, and the £85.51 million winger was replaced at halftime even though it was scheduled.

For the maneuver, United legend Paul Scholes referred to Antony as a “clown,” while Ten Hag claimed such trickery were acceptable provided there was a result.

Ten Hag emphasized, “I don’t have an issue with it as long as it’s functioning. I expect more from him as well, including more runs into the box, more follow-up passes, more pace dribbles in particular, and more playing in the pocket.

“We need more domination from this game, and when a trick like that is used, it’s wonderful as long as it works and doesn’t result in the loss of the ball; if it draws players, that’s OK. But I’ll correct him if it’s a trick because of a trick.

“More or less, when we are up, that was scheduled (the replacements were preplanned). After receiving a booking [against Real Sociedad], [Lisandro] Martinez was informed that he would miss the third and following games.

We must defeat Sociedad by a score of two goals, so we know what to do there.

United has to defeat Real Sociedad by two goals in order to win Group E and advance to the Europa League knockout round.

United will face a club that has been eliminated from the Champions League in a two-legged knockout round in February if they place second.

Ten Hag continued, “I believe it was a nice victory. “Of course, you always want more, but I believe we generated more opportunities for objectives.” We generated opportunities, which is positive; eventually, we also scored three goals.

And it’s fortunate that we remained in the opponent’s half while playing. They may have had one shot in the game, but we attacked well, were organized, didn’t allow for counterattacks, were strong in our defensive transition, and didn’t come out. We only played in their half for the remaining time.

We had opportunities and scored from a set-play, which I’m pleased with. The second and third goals were also really well-played.
