Striker Karim Benzema practices on the island of La Reunion

Karim Benzema, a striker for Real Madrid, has been on the island of La Reunion this week.

Benzema arrived in Qatar on Tuesday morning after being forced to withdraw from the World Cup due to an injury he suffered during France’s first full training session there.

There have been rumors that Karim Benzema may surprise everyone by rejoining the France team during the competition’s knockout rounds, but the 34-year-old is currently said to be “a long way off” from being fully healthy.

According to L’Equipe, Benzema was supposed to stay in a private rental for seven days before going back to training at Real Madrid on a full-time basis.
