Sergio Romero makes a hint about a possible Manchester United comeback.

Sergio Romero left Manchester United about 18 months ago, but he has just made a possible comeback suggestion.

During his six-year tenure at Old Trafford, the Argentine goalkeeper mostly took the back seat. He appeared in only seven Premier League games overall, with the bulk of them coming in cup competitions.

The 35-year-old left United in the summer of 2021 to join Venezia in Italy, and after only one season there, he moved back to his home Argentina to sign with Boca Juniors in August.

Romero is seen in a video asking a fan a question while signing autographs outside Old Trafford. The fan enquires, “Sergio, when are you coming back [to Manchester United]?” Romero then says, “Hopefully soon!”

Romero was there for the win against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League on Thursday. He is still very well-liked as seen by the large number of supporters vying for his autograph.

Given David de Gea’s contractual position and the fact that Dean Henderson is presently on loan at Nottingham Forest, it is uncertain how United’s goalkeeping unit will look in the long run.
