Jorginho affirms that despite his low-running contract and Barcelona’s interest, he is “extremely happy” at Chelsea.

Despite rumors that Barcelona is interested in hiring the Italian, Jorginho has maintained his pleasure at Chelsea.

Five years after moving from Napoli to Stamford Bridge, the 30-year-old becomes a free agent next summer, sparking speculation that he may sign with a team in Spain or Italy.

The Brazilian-born star, who has more than 200 appearances for the Blues, said he was keen to stay focused on the job in London while speaking to Chelsea’s The 5th Stand app.

“I’m quite thrilled right now because we’re all very focused on what we need to achieve,” Jorginho stated. I’m having a good time here. I’m having fun working with everyone, and I believe everyone else feels the same way. Being at Chelsea is fantastic.

It is evident that Jorginho is not distracted by fans in other parts of Europe, as his agency earlier said that an extension may be put in place for him to continue at Chelsea for a little while longer.

Jorginho has been the subject of rumors that Barcelona is keeping an eye on him in case they decide to add him to Xavi’s team at the Nou Camp.

The defensive midfielder also said that despite Chelsea’s Saturday 4-1 loss to Brighton, the team’s spirits have not soured.

Before the World Cup break, Chelsea has four games left to play in three different tournaments, starting with their Champions League encounter against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday night.

The vice-captain of the Blues said on the club app: “It’s a very hectic schedule, but this is football.” In a few of weeks, we’ll take a little holiday, so it’s critical that we work hard now to gain more points and enter the break with a good attitude.

Jorginho not only helped Italy win the Euro 2020 but also the Champions League in 2021 and the Club World Cup earlier this year with the Blues teams.

Other Chelsea players whose Stamford Bridge contracts are set to expire in 2023 include N’Golo Kante and Thiago Silva.
