Diogo Dalot’s contract will be extended by Man United for another year.
Despite interest from Barcelona and AC Milan, Manchester United is allegedly prepared to initiate a one-year contract extension for Diogo Dalot.
The contract of the Portuguese right-back at Old Trafford ends in the summer of 2019, and other teams are keeping an eye on the issue.
Having played 17 times in all competitions and being the only actual ever-present in both the Premier League and Europa League so far this season, the 23-year-old has cemented his position as Erik ten Hag’s first-choice right-back.
United is thus eager to retain on to Dalot and is reportedly planning to extend his contract until the end of the 2023–24 season as they continue to talk about longer-term options, according The Sun.
According to the same source, Barcelona and AC Milan are both keeping an eye on Dalot’s position with the hopes of signing him for nothing in the next summer.
Despite Dalot’s refusal to discuss his long-term future after their 1-0 victory against West Ham on the weekend, United will be keen to guarantee he remains beyond this season at least with the option of a one-year contract.

After the game, Boss ten Hag also spoke to laud Dalot, saying: “I’m incredibly satisfied with the progress of Diogo.” He has performed well.

Dalot initially moved to Manchester United from Porto in the summer of 2018 for £19 million.
In his first two seasons at United, Dalot made 34 appearances across all competitions before being loaned out to AC Milan for the 2020–21 season after falling out of favor under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
On Dalot’s return to Old Trafford, the Norwegian still favored Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but interim manager Ralf Rangnick loved him and made sure he played 30 times in all competitions the previous season.
