Brazilian icon Pele is doing well.

Pele, a national hero of Brazil, is in good health and fully in control of his essential functions.

Recall that Pele, who is still battling cancer, was brought to a hospital in Sao Paulo on Wednesday.

Kely Nascimento, his daughter, acknowledged that he was hospitalized but emphasized that it was not an emergency.

Pele is reportedly stable and does not need to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, according to sources from Brazil.

According to a hospital memo sent to the Brazilian media:

“Without the necessity for hospitalization in an intensive care unit or semi-intensive unit, the patient was transferred to a common room after a medical examination.

The former athlete is in stable clinical condition and fully in charge of all important functions.

Pele had had surgery to remove a tumor from his intestines last year and has since been in and out of the hospital many times.

When The 82-year-old will be released from the hospital is still a mystery.
