Before Man Utd’s triumph, Ronaldo attempts to mimic Antony’s talent but is unsuccessful.

Prior to Manchester United’s 1-0 victory against West Ham, Cristiano Ronaldo tried unsuccessfully to duplicate Antony’s double pirouette maneuver.

The 37-year-old Portuguese great attempted to imitate his Brazilian teammate’s Thursday night stunt while warming up before the match at Old Trafford.

When the Red Devils defeated Sheriff in the Europa League, Antony spun 720 degrees before kicking the ball out of bounds.

The Mirror claims that on Sunday, Ronaldo, who began the game against West Ham, drew motivation from it but lost composure after only one pirouette.

The Real Madrid icon was spotted laughing after his failure to execute the move as the ball slid away from him.

The trick has become synonymous with Antony, who signed for United in the summer for a staggering £85.5 million.

However, it has caused disagreement among people in England.

BT Sport pundit Robbie Savage stated the following after the skill and incomplete pass: “After completing that, he takes the ball out of play. Actually, it’s rather humiliating.

“He throws the ball out of play while doing that with no one around.”

Paul Scholes, a former Man Utd player, added: “What’s he contemplating? When the score is 0-0, he kicks the ball out without beating anybody or amusing anyone.

“But it’s just the way he plays; I’ve seen him do it a lot of times for Ajax as well. But I believe he has to have that knocked out of him.”

On social media, Antony defended his talent by asserting: “We are recognized for our work, and I won’t stop doing what brought me here!

Due to a slight injury, the former Ajax player missed the victory against West Ham.

However, Ronaldo didn’t play until Marcus Rashford’s goal gave Erik ten Hag’s team the win.

They are currently ranked fifth in the Premier League, one point behind Newcastle in fourth place with one game remaining.

The Red Devils’ subsequent fixture is a Thursday Europa League away game against Real Sociedad, followed by a Sunday trip to Aston Villa.
