Xavi has often expressed his wish to keep Busquets in Catalonia, but the club is adamant on sticking with its plan to cut salaries in the next months.

According to sources from Cadena SER, as reported by Diario AS, a deal has already been reached with the Busquets camp, and the two sides have reached a “95%” agreement.

When Xavi returns from his international duties at the 2022 World Cup, he will be frustrated by the news since the 42-year-old is confident in his ability to convince Busquets to remain.

Lionel Messi has also been linked with a transfer to Miami, and his contract at Paris Saint-Germain ends at the same time as Busquets’ contract in Spain, so Xavi’s choice may be forced.
