Arsenal is thinking about signing Orlando City player Facundo Torres in January.

According to a rumor, Arsenal is mulling a deal for Facundo Torres.

In order to maintain this season’s championship challenge, manager Mikel Arteta wants to add a right-sided winger to his roster to compete with Bukayo Saka. His team now leads the Premier League by two points, and Arteta is eager to add additional depth to his squad.

The Uruguayan, 22, made an impression for Orlando City during the 2022 MLS season, and the Gunners are prepared to speak with him and his representation, the Standard reports.

Torres joined the club on a four-year agreement from Penarol in January for around £7.75 million. In his first season, he tallied nine goals and ten assists.

After early discussions, it is allegedly uncertain if Arsenal would proceed with the acquisition, but negotiations will shortly start.

Arsenal increased its depth on the field in a number of areas throughout the summer, but the club is still looking to bolster its wide player pool. Reiss Nelson replaced Saka against Nottingham Forest on Sunday after the Englishman sustained an injury.

Nelson scored twice in the contest, but it was just his first season-opening outing, and it’s not obvious whether Arteta has any long-term ambitions for him.

Torres scored against Arsenal during preseason play, but Toni Lima, a club scout hired in 2021, is said to have sparked the North London club’s interest after seeing the winger.

Lima, which focuses on discovering South American talent, is credited with being among the first to get wind of Neymar and Philippe Coutinho while they were still playing in Brazil.

Although Mykhaylo Mudryk of Shakhtar Donetsk and Pedro Neto of Wolves have also been mentioned in connection with Arsenal, it is thought that Torres tops their list of objectives. It is becoming more probable that a winger will join the club in January.
