Lionel Messi has now casted his vote in Barcelona’s presidential election today on Sunday.
Messi submitted his vote alongside his son Thiago at the Camp Nou.
Over 110,000 Barcelona club members get to decide who will lead Barcelona over the next few years.
The candidates for the Barcelona Presidential Election are Joan Laporta, Victor Font and Toni Frexia.
Messi came close to leaving Barcelona while Josep Maria Bartomeu was the club’s President.
The 33-year-old was unhappy about the direction of the club on and off the pitch.
Messi can now leave Barcelona at the end of the current season for free.
Barcelona’s presidential race will be a key factor about if Lionel Messi stays or leaves the Spanish club.
Voting started at 9am local time in Spain earlier today.
Votes will continue until 9pm local time in Spain and a result will be announced by midnight.
By 3.00pm today, 23,619 people have already submitted their votes.
