Hottest Transfer Rumours In The Premier League

This year’s English Premier League season was irregular, to say the least. After sports across the UK were suspended in March, fans had to wait more than three months for the players to return to the turf. Even then, they had to stay away from the grandstands, with the TV and the live streams in betting apps being the only way they could follow their favourite teams’ matches.

The soccer betting app available at Betway was pretty much the only solution to see some live football for many while the seasons across the world were suspended. Bookmakers did cover the only soccer league that didn’t stop its season, the Belarus Premier League, through the hardest times of the year. Now, in turn, when soccer is back (along with the majority of other sports), the Betway app finally returned to normal, covering the most exciting matches in the world.

The delays of the EPL season have left the clubs with just a very short summer break. While the summer transfer window has also been pushed forward – it ends in early October – all clubs want to get over with their signings quickly before the season begins. Some of them are surprisingly expensive, like Kai Havertz’s move from Leverkusen to Chelsea. But it seems that the biggest transfers are still to come.

Antoine Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann joined Barcelona last year in one of the most expensive transfers of 2019. He was brought to the team to replace Messi starting this year – but it seems that the Argentine will not leave Barca after all, making the position of Griezmann at Camp Nou questionable, to say the least. And he might be leaving soon.

Griezmann would be an attractive target for several English Premier League teams. Among them, Arsenal and Manchester United – both of them are said to be on alert, eager to pay a huge pile of cash to sign the 29-year-old Frenchman.

Antoine Griezmann is the fifth most expensive football player in history – Barcelona paid €120 million (almost N55 billion) to have him.

Davide Zappacosta

This one is not as much a transfer but a loan and it’s not “hot” in the traditional sense of the word but rather “interesting”.

28-year-old Italian right-back Davide Zappacosta may be in for his third stint with Italian team Atalanta on loan from the EPL club Chelsea. He joined Atalanta in 2011 and was immediately loaned to Avellino – the player and the club made the transfer permanent in 2012. From Avellino, he transferred back to Atalanta in 2014 where he stayed for just one season before he was signed by Torino FC in 2015. Two years later, he left Italy for the Premier League club, Chelsea, for which the English club reportedly paid €28 million, plus bonuses.

Now, Atalanta is reportedly in discussions to sign Zappacosta once again – on loan, for now. Zappacosta spent most of this season on loan with Roma, falling out of favour at Chelsea. While his current contract should keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2022, it is rumoured that Chelsea is actively trying to let him go.

Gareth Bale

31-year-old Welsh winger Gareth Bale left Tottenham for Real Madrid in 2013. It was reported that Manchester United also had their eyes on him but Bale chose Spain over Manchester at the time. Now, it seems, the Spurs may once again take a shot at signing him.

Tottenham apparently wanted to sign Englishman Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund but their attempt failed. Instead, they will reportedly try and sign Bale again.

Bale has won pretty much every award imaginable with Real Madrid but in the last year, he was mostly a benchwarmer.

While nothing is confirmed just yet, it was reported that the player was approached by a Premier League team and he is strongly considering leaving Real Madrid for good.
