Ncos Spends N697m On Employee Welfare.

In accordance with the Correctional Wellbeing Insurance Scheme, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) reported spending N697,353,617 to care for the welfare of active, retired, and dead workers (CWIS).

 

Haliru Nababa, the controller general of the military, described the CWIS as a staff-contributory program designed to aid people in a variety of situations, including accidents that occur while they are doing their duties, retirement, and death while in the line of duty.

 

Making Retirement a Happy Experience was the topic of the scheme’s 17th anniversary workshop, which was held yesterday in Abuja. Speaking at the event, Nababa stated, “We put a lot of significance to our annual CWIS session for obvious reasons.

 

According to him, between January and December 2022, the scheme paid out 242 death claims totaling $330,000,000, $522,000, $488,00,00 (330, 522, 488:00) and medical claims totaling $86,000,000, $113,800, $900,000 (86, 113, 890:00) for those who suffered various degrees of injuries while performing their duties.

 

Additionally, 304 additional recipients received retirement claims totaling 288 million, 707 thousand, 239 naira (280,707,239:00), according to Nababa.
