Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, announced a 50% fee reduction for all state-run commercial vehicles for the next week yesterday.
The governor praised the court for its decision about the deadline for new Naira notes and said that the measures were intended to mitigate the effects of the state’s gasoline shortage and cash crunch.
Sanwo-Olu stated the state government stopped construction on the Ijegun Egba route so that petrol tankers could deliver the product in his speech to Lagos residents on the country’s persistent fuel and financial crisis.
He said that food banks will be established in several areas of the state to provide food to Lagos residents.
The governor praised Lagosians for their tolerance, endurance, and fortitude during this trying time and urged them to maintain peace.
Unruly individuals were forewarned against trying to instigate disturbance by leveraging the situation.
