How I Stole Over 100 Bikes In Ondo Over The Course Of Three Months

Olamide Wasiu, a 35-year-old suspect in a robbery, admitted to stealing more than 100 motorbikes in three months from different communities in Ondo State.

Wasiu confessed to the crime and said that after taking the bikes, he would disassemble them before selling the stolen items to customers in the states of Oyo, Osun, and Ogun.

The suspect, who was on display at the Ondo State Security Network Agency’s (also known as Amotekun Corps) headquarters in Alagbaka, Akure, said that his main customer fled to Abuja after he was apprehended by Amotekun agents.

The state’s Amotekun Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, spoke on the arrest and emphasized that a probe had been launched to find the other gang members.

Adeleye said that agents had been sent to Abuja in order to find and detain the alleged buyer.

“The degree of success in the matter of security generally in Ondo State was owed to the coordination with the security services and the prompt information distribution by media,” Adeleye stated.

We have a gang called Olamide Wasiu that targets motorbike theft in the states of Ondo, Osun, Oyo, and Ogun. To collect all the bikes that have been taken from Ondo State, there is always a buyer who arrives in the middle of the transaction with a truck.

“We had been tracking the syndicate, and we were able to capture the leader, who admitted to stealing more than 100 motorbikes from Ondo State in only three months.

Sunday Aboto, 45, a suspected rapist who was also discovered to have three weapons during an Amotekun operative’s check of his flat, was also detained by the agency.

Moreover, we have a rape suspect. When we searched his home, we discovered that he had three firearms. We were able to prove that he uses these weapons, among other things, to employ criminals. We are now compiling our evidence and submitting them to the appropriate court to begin their trial.

The Amotekun head said, “We also detained a group of kidnappers, and the ringleader has admitted to the crime.
