Edo Will Renovate Additional Marketplaces And Ekiosa

Plans are in place to repair and enhance marketplaces around the state, according to Mr. Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo State. Before starting the project, the government highlighted that it was important to have the backing of the industry titans.

The governor encouraged business owners to support the initiative and maintain a safe and welcoming atmosphere for trade when he made these remarks during a meeting with the heads of market women groups from throughout the state.

The Ekiosa market’s design is complete, but without feedback from the market women, building cannot begin. They must examine our plan, and if they are satisfied, we will proceed with the groundbreaking ceremony and start the building process.

A children’s playground, a primary school, a healthcare facility, and other amenities are included in the design. Market women’s input is necessary. We will start construction as soon as you are happy with the design. The election will interfere with project delivery, hence we can’t start the project right now. We should wait patiently for the election to conclude before performing the foundation-laying ceremony and beginning construction.

The governor commented on the situation of Oba market, saying: “Trading in certain portions of the market would make it difficult to reconstruct it. It would be simpler for us to begin the building if you guys can assist us in moving them from one area to another.
