Boy, 11, Discovered Dead in Water

Joshua Sunday, an 11-year-old child who had been missing, was discovered dead inside a drum in Asaba, the capital of Delta State.

Three days after going missing, the deceased was discovered dead inside a water-filled drum in his home’s yard on Usonia Street, outside Stephen Keshi Stadium.

Christy Garuba, the deceased’s mother, described the occurrence on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, stating that her son went missing on Thursday and was discovered dead on Sunday, February 5.

Her kid, she said, had been slain and brought back to the property.

I often visit the West of the nation, and on Thursday, February 2, around 3 p.m., I contacted my son Joshua to let him know I was on my way back to Asaba. Joshua was still attending primary six classes since he is studying for the common entrance test (primary six exam). My travel to Asaba was delayed because of the gasoline shortage, she said, according to the Punch.

“I arrived at Asaba about 7:00 pm, went inside, and right away I saw my son’s slippers lying on the floor, but I didn’t see the youngster. When I asked my housekeeper where Joshua was, she replied she thought he had gone to charge his phone. I went to the location where he usually charges his phone, but he wasn’t there.

“I began looking everywhere for my kid, but I couldn’t find him. I went to the Division A police station in the evening to report the incident. After three days, I was instructed to go look for my kid someplace. As soon as I left the house, I received a call saying that my son had been located. When I returned to my property, I discovered my kid had died inside the drum in my hallway.

“Consider that they claimed to have located my kid near the drum I used to wash my face with on Friday morning. He was murdered and then smuggled back into the drum.

The distraught mother requested that the state’s security agency take swift action against the murderers in order to bring them to justice.
