Benue Police Arrest Five Suspects In An Armed Robbery

Five suspects for armed robbery were detained by Nigerian Police Force agents from the Benue State Command yesterday.

This was reported to reporters by the Command’s spokeswoman, Catherine Anene. Anene said that the individuals, who often disguise themselves as military men, were allegedly apprehended along the Makurdi/Laafia route.

According to the statement, Tyolumun Aver, better known as “Rugged,” was detained at Northbank Makurdi late one night while wearing a military outfit. Aver was planning to do sinister deeds in the region, it was found during the inquiry.

The following people were also detained in connection with the case: Tyolumun Boniface, Saaior Tunaga, Isaac Sefa, and Iorpenda Nature. One Dane pistol, ammunition, military camouflage outfits and accessories, black Special Forces uniforms, falsified military identification cards, and other operational equipment were found on the accused.

The spokeswoman for the Command said that more research was being done to determine where the retrieved goods came from.
