APC Selects A Legal Team And 12 SANS To Defend Tinubu.

To defend Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has assembled a legal team of 12 Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs).

 

With 8,794,726 votes, Tinubu defeated fellow candidates Atiku of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who received 6,984,520 votes, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who received 6,101,533 votes.

 

After rejecting the election results, Atiku and Obi declared their intention to sue the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for alleged election cheating and manipulation in favor of Tinubu and the APC.

 

Nonetheless, the APC has maintained that Tinubu’s victory accurately reflected the preferences of Nigerians who cast ballots in the election.

 

In a statement on Tuesday, Ahmad Usman El-Marzuq, the national legal adviser for the APC, revealed the 13-person list, which included 12 top attorneys.

 

According to El-Marzuq, the party is certain that the legal team has the necessary training and experience to guarantee the APC’s victory in the Presidential Election Petition proceedings.

 

El-Marzuq said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has assembled a group of exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable attorneys to defend the party before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

 

“The team is made up of legal stalwarts with extensive expertise in litigation, constitutional law, and election petition problems.”

 

The legal team comprises of twelve (12) Senior Advocates of Nigeria, and Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN, a prominent attorney who has won several high-profile election lawsuits and other significant issues, serves as the National Legal Advisor of the Party and Ahmad Usman El-Marzuq, Esq.

 

Sam Ologunorisa, Rotimi Oguneso, Olabisi Soyebo, Gboyega Oyewole, Muritala Abdulrasheed, Aliyu Omezia Saiki, Tajudeen Oladoja, Pius Akubo, Oluseye Opasanya, Suraju Saida, and Kazeem Adeniyi are additional members of the legal team.

 

El-Marzuq called on all parties concerned to behave themselves during the legal process with the highest professionalism and respect for the rule of law. He also asked party members to assist the team in its fight to defend the will and mandate of the people.
