APC Requesting A Four-Week Election Postponement
There are rumors that the All Progressives Congress (APC) wants to delay the general election because of the country’s current economic situation.
This occurs immediately after the APC halted its political efforts in the states of Ogun and Lagos, respectively.
The governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, is said to be the driving force behind a proposal by the governing party to move the election date forward by four weeks.
The APC source who talked to the aforementioned magazine said that the plan to postpone the election was motivated by the present state of the economy and the outcry that many Nigerians are feeling over the new Naira shortage and petrol prices.
The source stated: “Governor Nasir El-Rufai is spearheading the APC’s request to push out the poll by four weeks. I believe it has to do with the present upheaval brought on by the naira and the gasoline shortage.
